

The Boston Latino Aging Study (BLAST) is seeking volunteers over the age of 55 who speak Spanish, Portuguese, and/or English to help us understand memory changes that occur with age.
What does your participation in the study involve?
Participants will undergo some memory tests, as well as blood tests for biomarkers related to Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, they will undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to take photographs of their brains, and some participants may also choose to undergo positron emission tomography (PET) brain scans.
Project activities may include::
- Surveys
- Clinical and cognitive assessment
- Blood sampling
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Positron emission tomography (PET) scans – optional
Estimated time commitment: 8 visits over 5 years
Compensation: Participants will receive up to $750 for completing all study procedures after 5 years.
