Training

BU undergraduate and master’s students

The lab is excited to welcome student researchers starting in Fall 2025. Current BU students interested in joining the lab are welcome to email us at [email protected]. Be sure to include an unofficial transcript and your CV or résumé.

Prospective PhD students

Dr. Quiroz will be reviewing applications during the next admissions cycle, starting in Fall 2026. Students may apply through the Clinical Psychology or the Brain, Behavior and Cognition programs within the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences, or through the Graduate Program in Neuroscience (GPN).

We’re looking for passionate and driven individuals who are excited to contribute to our research! Applicants who are a great fit for the lab often bring:

  • A strong drive to explore challenging scientific questions, paired with persistence, creative thinking, and a passion for discovery.
  • Hands-on research experience in a psychology or neuroscience lab, especially projects involving neuroimaging and/or working with older adults, both with and without memory difficulties.
  • Research interests that align with the lab’s focus on preclinical Alzheimer’s disease, determinants of dementia risk and resilience, and the use of multimodal approaches, including cognitive assessments, mobile/digital tools, genetics, neuroimaging, and biomarkers to investigate brain aging.
  • An openness to engaging with multicultural populations. Spanish or Portuguese language skills are a plus, but not a must—what’s most important is a sincere interest in culturally sensitive research.

If this focus aligns with your academic and research goals, we encourage you to get involved as we push the boundaries of neuropsychology, neuroimaging and biomarkers in aging and dementia.

Postdoctoral research associate

We are seeking a postdoctoral research fellow to join us, with a start date in the fall 2026. Qualified candidates must hold a PhD and have experience in neuroimaging data analysis (MRI, PET), along with a track record of scholarly publications and robust analytical skills. To apply, please send your CV and a cover letter describing your research interests and fit with my lab to [email protected]. Only applicants meeting the PhD and publication requirements will be considered. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain advanced training in multimodal approaches to studying risk and protective factors for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in multicultural populations.
